Health Testing

  

At Pawz and Purz Maine Coons, the health of our cats is at the heart of every decision we make. All of our breeding cats are DNA tested for conditions known in the breed. 

Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (HCM) , Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA), Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD), and Pyruvate Kinase Deficiency (PKDef). 

Hip Dysplasia is also evaluated.

All breeding cats undergo hip screening with Xrays submitted to OFA and/or Paw Peds for official grading.

We review results carefully and pair responsibly to protect our lines and future kittens.

Healthy parents = healthy kittens = happier forever families.

We specialize in producing kittens that are not only stunning, but confident, affectionate, and ready to thrive in their forever homes.
